Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePo4)can be used to replace Ni-Cd, NIi-Mh and Sealed Lead Acid Batteries. The LiFePo4 batteries offer extreamely long cycle life, high energy capacity and quick charge and discharge times. There is no harmful heavy metals and can be recycled when they if one ever wears out.  LiFePo4 batteries offer better performance to that of traditional Ni-Cd, Ni-Mh, and Sealed Lead Acid Batteries. Traditional Lithium-Ion batteries offered many benifits but lacked in the area of safety and charge cycles.
